Pound Rounding Hammer

Forged by Brandon Dearing of Kansas City, Missouri

Made of 1045 hardened and tempered steel
Ground to a 120 Grit finish then buffed to a polished/satin finish
Hammer eye is drifted from both ends making an hourglass double taper that gives a tight fit to the handle
Carved handle is made of Hickory and contoured to fit the hand and coated with several coats of linseed oil
Hammer head is secured with a Purpleheart wedge
Hot oil finish on hammer head
Available from 1.5 to 4.5 Pound sizes

The rounded face of the hammer is used primarily for aggressive drawing down steel in all directions. While the flat face is used to square the steel, bring it to its final dimension, and planish it. You can draw out steel even more aggressively and selectively depending on the angle you hold the hammer.
