AAA Quench Oil is a 9 to 11 second quench oil (in the Nickle ball test) and is manufactured by Park Metallurgical/Heatbath Corporation
Flash Point: 340F
Working Range: 75F to 180F
Some recommended practices for maximizing the life of your quenching oil:
We recommend monitoring your quenching oil temperature. Quenching outside of the 'working range' temperatures will shorten the life of your quench oil. It is likely the oil will 'flash' or catch fire during or after quenching. Closing the lid to help extinguish the flames to minimize the burning of the oil.
Filter your oil periodically to minimize particulates.
Do not exceed 'one pound of steel quenched per one gallon of quenching oil'.
The world's most widely specified accelerated fast
oil quenchant. It is capable of quenching a variety of
steels, sizes and shaped parts with little or no change in
AAA Quench Oil achieves faster
cooling rates through intensified action in the initial
stages. This, and slower cooling through the martensitic
transformation range, minimize distortion and ensures
uniform maximum hardness to a greater depth. AAA
Quench Oil is suitable for integral quenching and ideal
for carbon, low and medium alloy steels.
