Description

This file guide is made using C2 Carbide blanks and is precision surface ground for a perfect match. The precision surface grinding assures that the two surfaces are in the same plane.

The file guide (or grinding) guide is made from 4142 HT Alloy Steel. Both bars have C2 Carbide bonded to one side of each bar. The 4142 HT Alloy Steel is well suited for this application and is more stable after machining.

The pins are hardened. Also supplied are two each 1/4-20 socket cap screws and an Allen wrench.

The carbide is not affected by abrasives other than diamond. Ceramic belts will scratch but should not be detrimental in the performance if this tool. Avoid overheating while grinding as this will cause the carbide to crack.

This guide can be used in the grinding of the ricasso and choil areas.

Size: 3 3/4" in length, 3/8" wide and 1/2" thick.
